Melara Pumpkin
Polesine is an area suitable for the cultivation of pumpkins, especially in the areas of the Po Delta and the upper Polesine.
The most cultivated types are: Butternut pumpkin and Buttercup. The Butternut pumpkin is characterised by a club shape, elongated and enlarged at one end, with a thick yellow skin with orange reflections and an intense yellow pulp. It is suitable for the tortelli filling and for any type of cake, thanks to its sweetness.
The Buttercup has a rounded shape with a very thin green skin and a very compact and firm yellow-orange pulp. It is sweet and well balanced by great sourness.
