Pinewoods
The pinewoods characterizing most of the coastal landscape (Rosolina, Porto Viro, etc.) have been all artificially created in more or less ancient times. The pinewoods are mainly formed by Stone Pine (Pinus pinea) and Maritime Pine (Pinus pinaster). Together with the Stone Pine, the plants of the spontaneous wood grow (Holm Oak, Common Oak, White Poplar, Common Ash), at the foot of which several species of shrubs and orchids can be found.
